Extraordinary General Meeting (EGM) - held on Monday 5 December 2016 “The proposal that the Worcestershire ME Support group be dissolved was agreed” - the EGM Minutes explain the situation. The last Droitwich, Worcester and Malvern group meetings were held this month. Currently the social lunches will continue in locations throughout the county, join us for lunch or just a cuppa and a chat - 2017 dates and venues are on the website. Also, members will be able to use the group’s internet forum until the end of March 2017. Please watch this website for future announcements and share our news, particularly with people who do not see the internet. Worcestershire M.E. Extraordinary General Meeting (EGM) - held on Monday 5 December 2016 Unfortunately due to difficulties finding new committee members to run the group, it was decided at the EGM that the group will close. There will be no monthly group meetings after December's Malvern and Worcester meetings. However the Group Social Lunches will continue - the dates for 2017 are on the website and calendar. Thank you - our group continues
Our group is viable, and continues - but there may be some changes in the future. Thanks to the publicity received from the ME Association, Action for ME, the Worcestershire local press, and everyone who forwarded our pleas for help - a few volunteers came forward at our AGM last Friday, 23 September. But, we still need more people to run the informal groups throughout the county. Current informal meetings in Droitwich, Worcester and Malvern, will run until the end of 2016. There may be changes in 2017, so check this website. Lunches will continue - check for dates and venues. If you want informal meetings in all areas of the county - help is needed at the meetings, and we need more people to attend them. The Group’s future - to be decided at the forthcoming Annual General Meeting (AGM). The possible closure of the group has been discussed in the past and committee members now feel this is imminent. That is, unless people come forward to take on positions of responsibility, so the group can continue. Please become a member of this group, and become involved in its future. Invitation to a meeting with Harriett Baldwin, MP & group patron Friday 3rd June from 2pm The Malvern Cube, Albert Road North, Malvern, WR14 2YF Although Harriett Baldwin is the MP for West Worcestershire, taking in the areas of Malvern and Pershore, the meeting is open to all members and non-members/contacts of Worcestershire M.E. Support Group. We will be doing a mini "Question Time" so, if possible, please could you let me know your question(s) prior to the meeting. This will help me to collate them and ensure that all of your topic areas are covered, making the best use of our time with Harriett. See our blog page. 2016.05 VoxRox Choir Singing the Blues for ME/CFS - Evening of Monday 9 May in Malvern
The VoxRox Choir, run by Shirley Goddard - a sufferer of M.E. herself, will be supporting M.E. Awareness Week during their rehearsals on Monday 9 May, 7.30 - 9.30 pm, at the Malvern United Reformed Church Hall, Worcester Road, Malvern Link. Shirley Goddard would like to invite anyone suffering with, or caring for anyone with M.E./CFS to join them for the evening. You don't have to sing - but enjoy some friendship and fun and have a coffee and cake, watching the VoxRox Choir rehearse for their upcoming concert. The Choir will be raising awareness and donations for the M.E. Association, by wearing blue, singing the blues and eating blueberry muffins.
